Stranded in Texas...

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

I have been in Texas this week meeting with the other Serve office guys and the other Serve Field Directors in the first ever Field Director's Summit.  It was a refreshing time of fellowship and ministry planning as we talked about the future of Serve and DBC Missions. I can't tell you what a privilege it is to serve alongside this group of men. All of them are passionate about the gospel, about cultivating, equipping, and mobilizing Christian leaders in their own unique field contexts, and expecting the Lord to do incredible things in the coming year.

In our case, a chunk of that revolves around revitalizing the church at West Hills over the next two years. The church has agreed to build a community garden as our primary outreach strategy, so be sure to be looking for more details on that in the next post.

At this moment, I am supposed to be landing back in Raleigh, where Meredith and the kids have spent the week with her parents; and headed back to Tennessee tomorrow.  However, the Lord had different plans for our weekend.  Because of the snowpocalypse hitting the east coast, my flight has been cancelled until Monday. I'll be in the Dallas area for the weekend.  I hope to make it to Denton Bible on Sunday morning for the morning services, so if you're local, please drop by the mission's kiosk and say hello!

Things you can be praying for this week...
1. Pray that I make it back to Raleigh on Monday, and that we make it safely as a family back to Tennessee.
2. Pray for our winter seminary extension class, which was supposed to start this Monday, but will be delayed a week because of our travel challenges.
3.  Please pray for Meredith's daddy, who's heart condition (A-Fib) has been getting worse in recent months. We found out this week he will be having major heart surgery to try and repair it on Tuesday, February 2nd.

We love you! Your prayers are a huge blessing to us!
Dennis is currently my favorite Kenyan!

Charlie getting in on the group discussion!

Nico serves in Spain, Babu in India, Greg in Argentina, and me in Tennessee.

A lot of work actually got done around these tables this week.  The Lord blessed!
